How do I book Highfield House?
Bookings can be made directly through our website or by contacting us directly.

Do you require a security deposit and when is the full payment due?
We ask for a 25% deposit to secure your holiday at Highfield and then the 75% balance is due three months before your holiday.

What is your cancellation policy?
The deposit and the balance once paid are usually non-refundable, unless we can secure an alternative booking for these dates.

We recommend that guests take out holiday cancellation insurance.

What time can we check-in?
If you are arriving on a ferry from Oban the house will be ready for you on arrival. If you are getting the ferry from Kennacraig or Port Askaig then please just check with us what time the house will be available after arrival.

What time is check-out?
The house needs to be vacated by 11am to allow our managers sufficient time to clean and carry out the changeover. We ask for your kind understanding and cooperation in this matter as we usually have the next set of guests coming in on the same ferry you will be departing on, which leaves a very small window for our managers to complete the changeover.

Feel free to check arrangements with us, as if there are no guests arriving that day, it may be possible to stay at the house until closer to the ferry queue time. We would very much appreciate if you could please leave the house as clean and tidy as possible to help manage the changeover.

Can I arrive earlier or depart later?
Early check-in and late check-out may be available by prior arrangement.

Yes, all bed linen and bath towels are included.

Yes, the house is fully heated and suitable for year-round stays.

Yes, laundry facilities are available for guest use.

Is there a garden at Highfield?
The garden extends to one third of an acre looking over the community of Kilchattan and out towards the Atlantic Ocean.

The garden is largely grassed with children in mind and is also fully fenced in, however there are often horses or sheep in the next door fields therefore dogs and children should be supervised.

Is Highfield House suitable for children?
Yes, the property is ideal for families and multi-generational groups.

Do you provide a cot and high chair?

Are pets allowed?
Dogs are allowed, however they must be supervised in the garden as the surrounding fields contain horses and sheep.

Please bring dog towels and we would also kindly request that you keep your pets off furniture and beds and kindly hoover up all dog hair upon your departure to help us have get house ready for the incoming guests.

A car is essential unless you are very keen cyclists or walkers! The house is approximately 5 miles from the harbour.

Yes there is parking available for several cars.
